Clio Cup - Event Format and Costs

Clio Cup GB promoter MotorSport Vision Trackdays (MSVT) has used its wealth of experience at creating, operating, and growing championships and series to offer a strong event format to entrants.

Each race weekend will comprise a single qualifying session followed by a pair of races with a minimum length of 20 minutes.

The grid for the first race of a race weekend is determined in a traditional manner by the fastest times set during qualifying. Race two’s starting order will be set by the second fastest lap time set by each driver during the same session.

The minimum age to compete in Clio Cup GB is 16, with a minimum licence requirement of a Motorsport UK Race National licence.

2024 Registration Fee = £1,600+VAT rising to £3,000+VAT at the end of January 2024

2024 Season Entry Fee = £6,000+VAT 

Points will be awarded to competitors listed as classified finishers in the final results as follows:

1st 50 points

2nd 42 points

3rd 36 points

4th 33 points

5th 30 points 

6th 27 points

7th 24 points

8th 22 points

9th 20 points

10th 18 points

11th 16 points

12th 14 points

13th 12 points

14th 10 points

15th 8 points

16th 6 points

17th 4 points

18th 3 points

19th 2 points

20th 1 point

In addition to the points outlined above, one point will be awarded for leading a lap (awarded to drivers crossing the line in the lead), and two points will be awarded to the driver setting the fastest lap in each race.
