Nicky Taylor Joins Clio Cup GB

2023 Mini Challenge Cooper Vice Champion Nicky Taylor joins Clio Cup GB with Graves Motorsport, for the 2024 season.

After four successful years in the Mini Cooper class, Taylor has chosen the Clio Cup GB championship as his next challenge. Taylor has already outlined his intentions to be at the sharp end of the competition and is relishing the opportunity of racing in the MSVT-operated championship:

Nicky commented, “We had a great time in the Mini Challenge Cooper class and now we feel it is time to step up to the Clio Cup GB championship. I am really excited to get my hands on the new car, which is being built at the Alpine Factory in Dieppe France as we speak. I am thrilled to be driving a factory built race car and am looking forward to learning it quickly so we can hit the ground running.”

Karl Graves, Graves Motorsport Team Principal, said: “It’s fantastic to announce our first Clio Cup GB driver, Nicky Taylor. We’ve loved having Nicky as part of the Graves Motorsport family and look forward to strengthening our relationship as we take on the new championship together. Nicky has already proven his pedigree in other formulae and we’re sure he can excel in the Clio.”

MSVT Championships Manager Stuart Garland added: “We’re pleased to announce that Nicky Taylor has joined the Clio Cup GB grid for the 2024 season. Nicky is a talented driver that we are already familiar with, having raced within the MSVT Racing portfolio previously. We always enjoy seeing drivers progress and it will be great to see Nicky take on this new challenge.”

Nicky Taylor becomes the latest driver to announce that they will be joining the Clio Cup GB grid in 2024 and will be hoping to emulate the successes of previous Clio Cup alumni, such as four-time British Touring Car Champion Ashley Sutton.

The championship is exclusively open to competitors running the latest 2024 Clio Cup race car, a front-wheel-drive hatchback equipped for life on the circuit. The opening two rounds of the 2024 season will take place at the historic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, on Saturday June 1st.
