Announcing Two New Drivers For The Upcoming 2024 Clio Cup GB Season

In an exciting double announcement, the identity of the latest two Clio Cup GB drivers has been revealed. Ray Honeybone and Kevin Stirling will be participating in the upcoming 2024 Clio Cup GB season, with both drivers keen to hit the ground running.

Ray Honeybone is a driver well-versed with the racing portfolio of MotorSport Vision Trackdays (MSVT), having competed in both Trackday Trophy and Trackday Championship (TDC) for many years. The Apple Car Centre driver has enjoyed plenty of success, including a number of race wins and multiple championship titles. Honeybone will be hoping to continue this strong form into the Clio Cup GB Championship, commenting:

“Since buying my Clio new for the 2018 season, we have had success in several different multiple-make series. The car has been super reliable and we have never had to modify it. This year it was decided to try Clio Cup GB where all cars will be identical, with more emphasis on the driver!”

Kevin Stirling, another driver familiar to MSVT paddocks, also joins the 2024 Clio Cup GB driver line-up. Stirling has been a regular in Trackday Trophy and TDC over the past few seasons and has also picked up his fair share of podiums and race victories. The Team Norfolk driver is clearly eager for the season to start, remarking:

“Having owned a Clio Cup Gen 4 car for a number of years, I am very much looking forward to being involved in the first event of Clio Cup GB. It was always a dream to be part of the original Clio Cup, but I never had the budget for it sadly. I am most certainly going to enjoy the moment.”

Ray Honeybone and Kevin Stirling will both be competing in fourth-generation Renault Clio Cup cars for the upcoming season. Each driver will be aiming to utilise the vast experience they have amassed through years of racing in the Gen 4 Clio to maximise their performance within the car.

When asked about the latest driver announcement, MSVT Championship Manager Stuart Garland responded:

“It brings us significant pleasure to welcome Ray and Kevin to the Clio Cup Great Britian grid. Both drivers joins us with a wealth of experience to their name and will make great additions to the championship. Having got to know them well over the previous years through both Trackday Trophy and TDC, I know firsthand the talent each will bring to the table.”
